Senator Runner Picks Antelope Valley Resident as Woman of the Year
Dana Haycock honored in Sacramento ceremony
The California Legislature today honored exemplary women from throughout the state at the annual Woman of the Year ceremony. Sen. George Runner (R-Antelope Valley) chose Antelope Valley real estate agent and volunteer Dana Haycock as the Woman of the Year from the 17th Senate District.
“Dana has worked tirelessly in our community as a volunteer, business woman, wife, parent and mentor to many,” Runner said. “It is with great pleasure that I name her the woman of the year from our community.”
Haycock, a Lancaster resident since 1992, is a licensed real estate agent and is active in many professional real estate organizations such as the Greater Antelope Valley Association of Realtors and the California Association of Realtors, for which she is an officer.
Haycock’s many non-profit affiliations include the Alpha Charter Guild (a fundraising organization for Antelope Valley Hospital); the A.V. Regional United Way; the Parent’s Board of Paraclete High School; the Valley Oasis (formerly the AV Domestic Violence Shelter); the Antelope Valley Amigas, and The Military Civilian Affairs Committee of the AV Chamber of Commerce.
She is an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lancaster.
Haycock has been married to her husband David for 35 years and they have five children and four grandchildren.
