“Georgia is a great choice for this award,” said Senator Margett. “She is a community leader whose dedication and hard work has improved the lives of hundreds of people throughout the 29 th Senate District.”

Georgia has a long history of dedicated service to others. For the past 10 years she has worked for the LeRoy Haynes Center where she currently serves as the Vice-President of Development. Prior to working for the LeRoy Haynes Center, she held a variety of positions at City of Hope, including Director of Operations.

Georgia has served as the chairman of the La Verne Chamber of Commerce and was a “Shop La Verne” Committee Member. She is currently a Girl Scouts Board Member.

“There are few people that maintain her level of enthusiasm and devotion to the community,” added Senator Margett. “She is very much admired and respected by her colleagues in the San Gabriel Valley.”

The “Woman of the Year” program was first established in 1987 by several women then serving in the state legislature. The entire state legislature now participates in this fine program.
