Wyland Named Legislator of the Year by the California Council for Adult Education
Award Recognizes Wyland's Efforts on Behalf of Public Education
In acknowledgement of his work on career technical education, Senator Mark Wyland (R-Carlsbad) was recently named Legislator of the Year for 2008 by the California Council for Adult Education (CCAE).
“I’m honored to be named Legislator of the Year by this effective and successful organization. The work CCAE does for adult education programs in California is invaluable and I’m proud to be a part of their efforts,” said Wyland. “Our like-minded attitude toward the importance of career technical education and public education will help prepare more students for hands-on job training.”
CCAE is the state’s largest adult education organization that represents teachers, administrators and counselors within the adult education field. The organization focuses on legislative advocacy, government oversight with the California Department of Education and in-service professional development for their members. Clearly on the same page, Wyland remains a long-time advocate of career technical education, support for adult education and workforce preparation programs.
“Senator Wyland plays a critical role in making sure adult education remains a part of the solution to expanding career technical education options for all students,” said Jeff Frost, CCAE Legislative Advocate. “CCAE is excited to name Senator Wyland as our Legislator of the Year, and we look forward to our continued work together on behalf of public education.”
Wyland will by honored by CCAE on March 3, 2008 in the State Capitol.
